Today, seven days until election day, the early voting process is more prevalant than ever. After, fighting voter suppression laws in Ohio, we still find ourselves having to remain diligent, in creating a process which allows individuals to exercise their right to vote on the candidates that are advocating for legislation which impact both the lives of their family and friends. Thus, in lue of the current weather conditions, for those voters who have chosen the traditional way of voting on election day, we often ask what is most important, VOTING or continuing methods that is comfortable. In fact, with the new Supreme Court decision to allow expanded hours at the Board of Elections it makes it possible to cast your vote early. This will allow time on election day to reach out and assist family members, and friends to the polls. The question remains is it time to begin a new tradition or method of voting. Still, there is time to early vote, in Cuyahoga County the hours has been extended to:
• 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, October 29, 2012 through November 1, 2012; and
• 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 2, 2012.
• 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012.
• 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012.
• 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2012.
Please be sure to go to google.com, or barackobama.com to research the Voting hours in your county. We ALL have a responsibility to make a decision in this election process, negating your responsiblity leaves opportunity for others to make decisions choosing legislators that may not have you or your family’s best interest in mind. Thus, as one of many who participated in the SLEEP OUT THE VOTE, and spent the summer Community Organizing, to me the importance in this election is clear and just like many others who continue to fight today for a better tomorrow, we will wake up on November 7, 2012 knowing we did all we could do, but our work continues. Still, the good news is there is still an opportunity to Early VOTE IN PERSON, and the deadline to early vote by mail is November 2, 2012. So, will you join so many of your friends and neighbors, and become an early voter. We are thankful for all of those who has joined us in this process, with a collective voice lends opportunity to fight another day for a better tomorrow. It’s our choice we can be a part of the problem or a part of the solution, what’s your choice?
