I love watching the Food Network, if I lack inspiration that’s what I’ll watch and I always come across delicious recipes and get really good ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Having said that not always are these recipes the healthiest so what I like to do is to spot the ingredients that are not so healthy and substitute them with healthier versions without compromising the taste.
Here is an example. I found one of Ina Garten’s recipes for zucchini cakes. Here is the list of ingredients.
2 medium zucchini (about 3/4 pound)
2 tablespoons grated red onion
2 extra-large eggs, lightly beaten
6 to 8 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
