Each year we dye Easter eggs, and then they sit on our counter until they rot and we finally throw them away. This year we found another use for them… practice spelling my little guy’s name. Although we used hard boiled decorated eggs, you could do this with plastic eggs. You could also practice any word(s) of your choice.
First we dyed our eggs. We didn’t do anything special, just a simple dye kit that I bought at the Dollar Tree for $1.00. You will need one egg per letter in the word you will spell.
While our eggs were drying, I whipped out our little egg holder using materials I had on hand. To my husband’s dismay, I save cardboard boxes and toilet paper rolls for future crafts. Today they came in awfully handy. Cut the toilet paper rolls in half and hot glue them to a cardboard base…
